Re: Comment on the Game Management Article

I had a double-header on Sunday night. The first game was not at all perfect. I didn't blow the whistle on a bunch of skirmishes and the players were all frustrated. I didn't see anything that was clear to me as a penalty, but I could have made something up just to assure the players that I was there and on top of things.

The next game was the complete opposite. I blew down a couple of unclear off-sides, called a couple of solid penalties, and just all-around felt like the players and I were in tune with each other.

I wouldn't suggest that hearing no complaints from players means a perfect game, but I think that if we interviewed any random player that night (in the 2nd game!) they wouldn't have mentioned disagreeing with any call I made or not against their own team (no one will complain when you penalize the other guys!)

To me, an imperfect person, can I ask for any better than that?
